We conduct research related to gravitational wave astronomy (LIGO), tests of fundamental physics on the tabletop (IQIM), and studies of space missions for gravitational wave detection. Specific challenges include: Intelligent Controls, Mechanical Domain Fluctuations, Adaptive Optics, Cryogenic Silicon Interferometers, Thermodynamic Limits of Optical Metrology, Quantum Information Limits of a Classical Laser Gyroscope for Rotation Sensing, High Q Silicon Opto-Mechanics.
